About Ten Days of Holiday Giveaways for Gardeners: For ten crazy days, I am joined by a bunch of great friends to give away some of my favorite products—all designed, written or produced by people that I know and love. You can check out this link to read the details about the participants and prizes. We’ll be gifting lucky winners with new garden tools, books, deck cards, and more throughout the contest! From a custom-designed De Wit potting scoop, to original botanical illustrations, to awesome gardening books to add to your personal library and much more, there will be lots of chances to win a special Christmas present for yourself or your favorite gardener. Why are we doing this? Well, because we love you, that’s why!
ANNOUNCING THE WINNER OF DAY FIVE: Thank you all for your wonderful comments—The lucky winner of a trio of Moo Poo Teas—and a healthier garden is …Laura McDonough! Congratulations! Please send your mailing address to cowlickcottage@gmail.com, and we’ll get your gift right out to you.
It’s Day Six of Ten Days of Holiday Giveaways for Gardeners, and the star of the show this evening, for the second time in our giveaway, is Steve Asbell. I have known Steve for almost three years now, and his growth as an artist and writer has been phenomenal. Steve is typically a pretty reserved guy, but his beautiful young wife is really bringing him out of his shell. Steve and Jennifer came to visit us at Cowlick Cottage Farm in October, where we joined the New Leaf Market Farm Tour, which is a terrific event involving farms and festivals and food. We stopped for lunch in Thomasville, Georgia, where Steve got started on his Christmas shopping. You always have to watch out for the quiet ones.
Steve’s budding sense of humor aside, he takes his art seriously, and each drawing he creates is a beautiful study of nature that is bursting with color and life. Wouldn’t you like to own one? Good! Because Steve is giving away TWO more of his gorgeous botanical works to TWO lucky winners this week! We are giving away the second of three drawings today. Winner’s choice! Which drawing do you love the most?
‘I Heart Figs’
‘Grow Your Own Basil’
How to win? It’s easier than buying a lottery ticket (and your chances to win are much better!). Visit Cowlick Cottage Farm each day to see what the prize of the day is, and leave us a holiday greeting in the comments section each day that you’d like to be entered for the contest. We’d also appreciate you sharing our posts on Facebook and Twitter if you are so inclined. I’ll be selecting a winner every day and announcing the winner and the next contest daily! Sound like fun? We hope you join us all throughout the contest to share in the fun and the holiday cheer! Have you been naughty or nice? PS: Being naughty does not disqualify you from entering the contest (being mean, however, does!).
Disclosure: Each of these gifts was provided at no cost to me so that I could give them away to you!

Merry Christmas and happy holidays! I like them both but, if forced to choose, it would definitely be the FIG!

I really like the basil print. Merry Christmas!
Carolyn’s a jewel to offer these prizes.
Steve’s botanicals take on the guises
Of flowers, veggies and fruits such as figs,
Herbs and plants and all sorts of digs.
Joy he finds in all things green
His blog is fun and his facts are keen.

Merry Christmas to all who would rather be outside with the sun on their back and your hands in the dirt. May all your plants be healthy and reach for the sky.
