About Ten Days of Holiday Giveaways for Gardeners: For ten crazy days, I am joined by a bunch of great friends to give away some of my favorite productsโall designed, written or produced by people that I know and love. You can check out this link to read the details about the participants and prizes. Weโll be gifting lucky winners with new garden tools, books, deck cards, and more throughout the contest! From a custom-designed De Wit potting scoop, to original botanical illustrations, to awesome gardening books to add to your personal library and much more, there will be lots of chances to win a special Christmas present for yourself or your favorite gardener. Why are we doing this? Well, because we love you, thatโs why!
ANNOUNCING THE WINNER OF DAY THREE: I am having so much fun reading your comments that I feel like Iโm the one winning all the prizes. Thank you so much for all the holiday wishes! I know Chris McLaughlin was thrilled to see so many positive comments about her book, too! And the winner of Vertical Vegetable Gardening isโฆCyndia Montgomery! Congratulations and happy upwardly mobile gardening! Cyndia, please send your mailing address to cowlickcottage@gmail.com, and Iโll get your new book out to you right away.
Itโs Day Four of Ten Days of Holiday Giveaways for Gardeners, and the star of the show this evening is Shawna Coronado! There is no one else like Shawna, and she is an absolute dynamo that never stops working and never stops encouraging others. She loves rainbows and unicorns and sparkly things! She loves people! She loves gardening! And to know Shawna is to love her right back. Shawna and I had been acquainted โvirtuallyโ for a while, but we became fast friends when we finally met at P. Allen Smithโs Garden2Blog event in Arkansas last spring.
Shawna is an author, entrepreneur, public speaker, and proponent of living a greener lifestyle and sharing the many benefits within her community. She believes that one small change can have a huge effect. I believe sheโs right.
On a recent public speaking trip to Europe, Shawna was also invited to work with Sieste DeWit of DeWit Tools in Hollandโa company with a reputation of designing and manufacturing some of the finest tools in the worldโto develop a new garden tool. Their partnership resulted in this beautiful potting scoop. The unique design is made to fit easily into containers, to quickly rip open bags of potting soil, and to generally thrill container gardeners. Hand-forged of carbon steel, itโs as much a work of art as it is as useful tool. This beautiful potting scoop is available in the U.S. via Garden Tool Company. Are there any gardeners out there that might wish for this potting scoop? Yes? Well, we are giving one away to a lucky gardener today. Isnโt this contest great?
How to win? Itโs easier than buying a lottery ticket (and your chances to win are much better!). Visit Cowlick Cottage Farm each day to see what the prize of the day is, and leave us a holiday greeting in the comments section each day that youโd like to be entered for the contest. Weโd also appreciate you sharing our posts on Facebook and Twitter if you are so inclined. Iโll be selecting a winner every day and announcing the winner and the next contest daily! Sound like fun? We hope you join us all throughout the contest to share in the fun and the holiday cheer! Have you been naughty or nice? PS: Being naughty does not disqualify you from entering the contest (being mean, however, does!).
Disclosure: Each of these gifts was provided at no cost to me so that I could give them away to you!

Love this giveaway, especially after seeing Shawna in the forge with it! As much potting and repotting we do, this would be much better than that coffee container we currently use as a scoop ๐ Happy Holidays once again, and thanks for spreading the cheer!

This potting scoop looks so helpful!
Love you blogs.
Today’s prize — a fine, new garden tool
Which honestly makes me sit and drool!
Designed especially for planters like me
Who keep a container menagerie,
But still enjoy getting down on my on my knees
Digging God’s earth and planting the seeds.
To see them grow is likened to birth …
Flowers and veggies, it’s Heaven on Earth!
Shelly,
Your poems are excellent! I find myself looking forward to them every day. ๐
